Less is better in introducing your pet to the supplement. Use measuring spoons.
The rule of thumb is 1 level teaspoon per 20 pounds of pet weight per meal. (A 20 lb Cocker gets 1 level teaspoon. A 60 lb. Huskie gets 3 level teaspoons per meal. A 10 lb. cat gets 1/2 teaspoon per meal). For finicky eaters or pets with sensitive stomachs, use ratio 1 level tsp. per 30 pounds pet weight.
Begin day 1 and 2 with about 1/4 of the final recommended serving stirred well into the pet’s normal food. Increase to 1/2 of the final recommended dose on day 3 and 4 stirred into pet’s food.
On days 5 and 6, use 3/4 of final recommended serving size. Day 7- go to the full serving size per weight of the pet and stir well into food.
FINICKY EATERS—go slower and longer in transition and use less until pet easily eats recommended amount. You can start out with a pinch and slowly increase.
OPTIONS: can add few tablespoons of water in food and stir with supplement to make a slight gravy. You can also add a low salt broth.
YOUNG PETS—- less than 5 years you can use only once a day or put half amount on each meal. AGE 5 on or younger with a medical condition, use full recommended amount.
